Database Analyst
As a member of the Application Development and Support team, the Database Analyst will partner with the Data Quality services in support of data improvement initiatives. Major responsibilities include data collection and analysis along with the design and execution of data maintenance procedures.
Duties include:
Technical and functional knowledge mastery of database applications, data flows and business usages
Script development for extraction, interpretation, categorization and modification of firmwide operational and decision support data stores
Definition of coding variables to categorize CRM data, document and share knowledge of data coding and analysis techniques with other staff
Use of basic statistical methods to interpret data analysis results and provide written summaries of analyses.
Database development and partner in continued application development, testing and support process development
Details
Master the business critical CRM environment from a data usage and reporting perspective. Work closely with developers to understand the technical and functional details needed to create required data usage and coding documentation.
Provide 2nd/3rd level support for the data quality environment including incident management and escalations, problem management, communication with internal customers for data related issues.
Perform trend analysis reporting with IT leadership and team members
Lead DQ efforts in customer care program including continuous enhancement of helpdesk processes, tools and communication.
Use and support database applications and analytical tools: evaluate data quality, applications, and functions, produce output, maintain operational scripts as needed
Responsible for improving data quality and for designing or presenting conclusions gained from analyzing data using statistical tools like Microsoft Excel, SAS, SPSS and others
Position Requirements
Five or more years experience as a data analyst or administrator, preferably in a Microsoft SQL Server 2008/2005 24/7 environment
Extensive experience with interpreting and reporting results of data analysis, experience in data processing and file management
Experience in ETL script creation using Data Definition Language or Data Manipulation Language SQL commands and maintenance for data manipulation design and implementation.
Well organized with the proven ability to work effectively within a global team construct
Knowledge of and experience with DataFlux tools is a plus
Highly motivated, goal oriented self-starter with a firm commitment to deliverables and deadlines
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, experience in writing technical reports desirable
Education & Certification
Bachelor*s degree, preferably in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline
Microsoft Certified SQL Database Administrator
